Super Poll released the survey results, showing that most Thais are unhappy with the money in their pockets and have no expectations for the new government to increase income for the people, but are satisfied with the results of soft power.
Recently, the Super Poll Research Center announced the results of the "Government Handover" survey, which used various occupational groups across the country as samples for case studies. This project conducts quantitative research (Quantitative Research) and qualitative research (Qualitative Research) at the same time, and a total of 1,131 samples were collected for statistical analysis. The project was conducted from August 22 to 24, 2024. When asked about the happiness of the current money in their pockets, it was found that most people (63.6%) felt not very happy or unhappy with the money in their pockets; while 36.4% said they felt very happy with the money in their pockets. As for the people's expectations for the new government to help the people increase their income, the survey found that most people (55.4%) had no hope for the new government, while 44.6% had hope for the new government.
It is worth noting that when asking the public about their satisfaction with previous governments when entering a new government, the following are the results:- The top achievement of previous governments is soft power and economy led by Phethong Tan, with a support rate of 46.5%. - The second place is social order led by Minister of Interior Anutin, with a support rate of 42.8%. - The third place is transportation, infrastructure and transportation during General Prayut's administration, with a support rate of 33.7%. - The fourth place is education through digital technology by General Pomp, Minister of Education, with a support rate of 32.8%. - The fifth place is modern university education and artificial intelligence (AI) proposed by Suphaman, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, with a support rate of 26.7%.
However, the survey report shows that most people (64.4%) are concerned about political conflicts, while 35.6% are not worried, reflecting that the instability of the political arena may affect Thailand's long-term stability, and the uncertainty of how to deal with these issues may affect confidence in the government and external investment.
The past performance of previous governments has been highly evaluated by the public, such as the economic recovery brought by soft power, the social order of the Ministry of the Interior, and the development of education brought by digital technology, reflecting that the public wants to see reforms in many areas that affect people's daily lives. Analyzing these survey results can help the new government grasp the information to determine policies and plans that better meet the needs of the people and build long-term political confidence and stability.
As for the suggestions for Prime Minister Pak Tongtan's government and the Alliance Party, they mainly include the following aspects: 1. Improve economic stability, because many people are dissatisfied with the money in their pockets. The government should formulate and publish clear policies to increase people's income and reduce their expenses, such as tax cuts or support production costs, and make soft power policies successful and continue to expand. 2. Increase transparency and listen to opinions to increase confidence in the government and reduce political burdens. Channels should be provided for citizens to express their opinions freely and obtain information about government work. 3. Promote innovation and skills development. The government should support education and skills development in various fields related to digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to make citizens competitive and ready for the future labor market. 4. Dealing with political conflicts requires a clear process for dealing with political conflicts, which may include promoting dialogue and peace through the involvement of various sectors. Implementing these recommendations will help create long-term stability for the Thai government and society, and increase people's satisfaction and reduce anxiety.
